IMC Cos. grows footprint with acquisition; provides update on Collierville HQ move
Memphis’ largest intermodal logistic firm has added to its network as it continues to make progress on its new HQ.
IMC Cos. acquired Houston-based intermodal transportation firm Empire Truck Lines effective March 12. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Empire — founded in 1975 — has terminal operations in Dallas, Tulsa, San Antonio, Laredo, El Paso, and Houston. Locally, it has a facility at 6602 Stateline Road in Olive Branch, according to Empire’s website.
The acquisition increases IMC’s truck capacity and also allows Gulf Intermodal Services (an IMC brand)and IMC to offer its customers a full-service depot in the Houston market, which includes container lifts and storage, according to a release.
