IMC Global Solutions buys North Carolina Furniture Association
(Memphis, TN) – IMC Global Solutions (IGS), a member of the IMC Companies family of brands announced this week that it has officially acquired Global Shippers Association (GSA), an established leader in the import of home furnishings. This significant acquisition will more than double the size of IGS.
“For some time, we have been seeking out opportunities to expand our reach and customer base,” says IGS president Mason George. “GSA presented a prime opportunity to purchase a company whose customers fully appreciate the value of shipping with an efficiencies-focused logistics expert.”
In addition, GSA customers will now have access to the comprehensive suite of services offered by the IMC Companies family of brands including customs house brokerage, truck brokerage and access to more than 1,500 drivers.
GSA will continue to operate as an association with the same leadership team, and they will continue to be dedicated to the import of home furnishings.
“We are pleased to welcome into our family a like-minded organization that focuses on maximizing efficiencies, providing competitive value and superior customer service,” says Mark H George, Chairman of IMC Companies. “I commend Mason and his team for the foresight and hard work it took to finalize this deal. Through his leadership, IGS is creating a platform for IMC Companies to provide a more complete transportation solution for import/export customers, enabling us to remain focused on leading the industry in international trade.”
